Indoor Archery - NORGC - Winter 2026

This four-week program is perfect for kids who are excited to learn about archery. Whether you're a complete novice or have minimal archery experience, this class provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment to get you started.

Winter 2026 Offerings:

Young Beginners - Ages 6-9 - Learn the fundamentals while having fun. Archers in this age group are going to find success pairing target practice with games so for this 4 week session, we will find fun games to mix in with our practices. 

Tweens & Teens - Ages 10+ - No matter your skill level, we'll make sure you hit at least a few 6-7's and higher. This class goes more into form and the connection between your mind and your body as we track our scores and our goals in archery journals and we will also get to play games so don't worry that the young beginners are having more fun than you. 

Classes will meet on Mondays at the North Ottawa Rod & Gun Club in the clubhouse.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Can my child bring their own equipment?: Yes - they can bring their own bows (recurve or compound bows only, please), arrows (target tips), and any releases or other accessories they normally use.
  • Does my child need their own bow?: No - we use Genesis Compound Bows for our classes and we will provide bows and arrows for anyone who doesn't have their own.
  • Can parents stay?: Yes - there is a spectator area that we will set up each week so parents/family members can watch. There is also an area for siblings who want to play games, do homework, have a snack outside of the archery range in the other room.
  • What should my child wear?: Layers - comfortable clothing that isn't too restricting especially allowing for arm, shoulder and torso movement but also be mindful that the range is inside a concrete building so while we have the heat on, it is not very warm inside when the class starts. Also - Closed toed shoes are MANDATORY. No crocs, no stocking feet, no sandals.
